On a side note I'm a big fan of TP's products. The issue is mating to an S&S lower. Not sure why Sheldon thought that was the way to go but TP stuff is generally more expensive so have to guess it was done as an attempt to make an improvement :loony:
Yeah, I'm not the most knowledgeable with these motors, but I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I did some research and it seems the TP products is a bit higher cost in the aftermarket. I'm like you and assuming it was meant as an upgrade.

We shall see. I put a deposit on the bike and am waiting to hear back from my loan company. I'm putting a big chunk down in cash so I don't think the loan company will mind. I do wish I had sold my Honda first, but I'm optimistic it will sell in the early spring. I just hate having 2 payments at the same time. I have enough in cash right now to pay the Honda off but I'd rather have the lower payment on the BD in case life has a road bump to cross and I need the money in the future, lol. I'd rather have a lower monthly payment and pay more toward principal and get her paid off in half the time than to be short a month and screw up a credit score in the really high 700's.

If you want to save money you should read the maintenance threads and buy a manual. Since your bike hasn't even hit the 3k break in yet you need to watch things closely.

Get a battery tender and do all the maintenance, check your tire pressures. my front seems to need some air once a month. Go over things like forks, top motor mount, rear wheel with a torque wrench and check your belt tension.

I think the main problems with a 06 will be speedo, ECH, and the clutch hub nut.

Doing the maintenance yourself if key with these bikes
