EHC light
Ok as per my other questions...but a new one.. my headlight functions intermittently low beam mostly but now high beam as well. I checked the lights on my EHC and found when my low beam didn't work a yellow light appeared. My question is this.. Is the EHC telling me I have a fault somewhere in my headlight wiring or is it telling me something else..
Is it the EHC? Its all guessing until you go through your entire system and check EVERYTHING.
People are quick to blame the EHC but WP has its problems too. Was just on the phone last night with a forum member. His headlight and tail lights would come on when he first started the bike and after about a minute they would start to fade and go out completely. Everything else worked fine. He spent some time troubleshooting. Pulled his headlight bulb out of the circuit started the motor again and after about a minute the rear brake light switch started smoking. So he shut her down immediately pulled the switch and wiring and inspected it thoroughly and could find nothing wrong with it. So he put everything back together and started the motor again and the same thing. So he started going through everything. He started at the extremities, lucky for him, first and found a wiring that was grounding intermittently on his license plate light. Fixed it and tried running the bike again and Boom that was the problem. Now it runs great and no more headlight problems.
Whats my point? Before you start ditching things and spending money spend some time troubleshooting the electrical system.
Im not saying these guys that put in the WP did or didn't solve their problem with the WP. Im just Id be willing to bet my left nut that alot of them solved some other issue while they were tearing everything out and putting in the WP.
