Went for a ride Easter Sunday. Checked the weather and no clouds in the area. Took off for a short cruise of about 20 miles one way. Had a great ride, get there and the wife text's that there are black clouds building and thunder is cracking. She is wanting to make sure that I am on my way home before $hit hits the fan.

Ok no stop better head home. Take off and again great ride no troubles at all running great pulling hard through the rpm range.

Get about 2 miles from home and it starts to sprinkle, drops the size of quarters. About another 1/4 mile and she let loose. Buckets of water and pea size hail. Get stuck at only one stop light and kind of chuckle to my buddy about the hail.

Get going to make it home and the bike starts coughing and sputtering, give it gas with a couple of twist of the throttle and it takes off then again coughing and sputtering.

Well we get to my garage. Get the bikes cleaned up and then supper time.

A couple days later go out and the bike starts and runs fine. Hum seems to have dried out and running. All is well. Nope on Thursday take the bike out to go for a ride and she dies 3 blocks from home. Yeap push the sweet girl home.

This time pull the seat, tank, and side covers. Pull a plug wire and no spark. Well I thought no spark. Pull connectors check the LEDs on the ECH yeap all working. Check the LEDs on the ignition module yeap they are working. Check spark again and yeap there is good spark.

Hum?? The wife is sitting there watching me do all this and asks "Is there gas?" Well of course there is gas, right? I turn on the petcock, Nope no gas.

Long story short. Check you fuel level.

That was totally worth the read. Thank you for that. Wish mine was just gas. Thought that's what it was till I pumped it full of premium. Nothing but problems since I got her home.

I think you better let your wife do your maintenance from now on...:roll::roll:

You know your going to hear about that for a very long time, should have turned it to reserve when she wasn't looking and said you found the wire that came off.:whoop:

And you had pictures riding with someone with a gas can,,,,

Great story though,,, glad it was just gas and not the Ech,, I always look at my mileage,, I found out the hard way right after I got my ole scooter,,it didn't sputter and quit it just shut down,, still had reserve and I am saying oh, please ,oh please Jesus let me make it to the gas station!!! Leant a lesson,,,if my wife had figured that out for me I'd hear about it every time I went riding for the rest of my life,, " Oh Honey,,,,Make sure you have gas then she would laugh :D again and again,,, forever!!!

I did reset the trip meter but the ride went longer than planned. For some reason the reserve on this bike is very limited. I have used it on occasion and there was enough to get me where I needed to go. This time and another there no reserve what so ever.

My wife is already having a lot of fun with this already and we have not ridden together since this happened. I know that this will not be the end of the fuel remarks.
