Another Cracked Frame

Well, y'all can now add me to the list of those who's found a cracked frame. Mine appeared today after my commute to and from work. I know it wasn't there yesterday because; I cleaned the scoot yesterday evening and would have noticed it then. I washed the area yesterday and it wasn't there. I didn't hit any major pot holes and the route that I take is decent and pretty smooth. I do cross over several spans of train tracks and that’s probably the only area that’s anywhere near not smooth but it's not harsh...

Word to the wise, keep an eye on your frames! :spank:

At first I thought it was tar because some road construction is along the way and there was some wet tar on the road today.

Nope it's not tar, I took my finger nail and tried to determine if it was dried on tar, wishful thinking! Now, I'm going to have to tare this bitch apart.

I cleaned the area with Mineral spirits, because I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.:bang:

Again keep an eye on your frames! I wipe mine down after every ride. It's a good practice, you'll notice every speck that's new...:roll::roll: Unfortunately this one was very visible and I'm thankful that I found it. It could have been very bad if it gave way! :(

I guess I was feeling sorry for Knuckles so I cracked mine. Now your not along brotha..:argue:

I know, it really sucks! I just got the Ridgeback back on the road. Had Bobby rebuild the trans and I installed a Bandit Bruiser and Compu-fire charging system on it. Now, I got to tare down the Mastiff...:bang:

Good thing is I have two back-ups and the weather is nice for riding...:D

But the Mastiff is down....

That sucks, I even looked at mine the other day after the last post and when I looked at the left side I thought, thats beefed up pretty good on this side, well I guess not.

How many miles do you have on it?

RETIRED
Dingo Showed me where his broke and it was on the opposite side, same area on a 07 K9, His problem occurred a few years back. I hope this isn't the start of a trend. I went out this morning and went over mine again. Sorry to see it. Keep us posted on the repair.

Looking forward to retirement
my bike went back in 2007 during the recall and got checked out. Brought it to Strokers and they shipped it to Bigdog. These frame breaks are they accuring on certain bikes, certain years?

Good you caught it now, if the frame was black it would have been harder to see.

Mods, could we get a sticky thread for cracked/broken frames?
