Another Braided Fuel Line Thread - With Part Numbers

Here's another braided fuel line thread. I have the part numbers from Pingel so I thought I'd make it easy for someone. Here's what you'll need to convert it to a 6-AN fuel line. At least the way I did it anyway

Pingel Fuel Valves

11-2355 S&S 6-AN Fitting W/O Ring Kit $31.75
6231-CH Valve 3/8 NPT Hex 6-AN $110.50
SS6C Filter SS Chrome 6-AN $48.95
A2001C Adapter Nut 3/8 NPT x 22mm $21.50

If I was to do this again I may have ordered a 4331-CH valve that should give you the adapter nut without buying it separately. It should also put the lever on the side with the outlet facing rear like you probably want it. My lever for the valve is facing front but hey whatever..works for me. As far as the lines and fittings go your on your own. I used #6 braided teflon and stainless aircraft fittings. I did use a 90 degree fitting at the carb and a 90 degree fitting when I came up between the heads to the filter. then you'll need a couple straight fittings to get you from the filter to the valve. If your not comfortable messing with the carb this isn't for you. You have to pull the float bowl to put the new fitting on the carb. There is a needle valve that rides up and down in that fitting that shuts the fuel off as the float rises in the bowl. It's a easy 15 minute job to pull the bowl and install but I didn't take pictures so I'm not getting into that here.

I'm referring to Gasman's posts for the rest of my info. I want to do the rest of the lines up top now.

Paul, just so you are aware, if you start to notice fuel starvation at w/o/t it may be because of the additional fuel filter you added. it seems like they don't flow enough for these motors.

Ok thanks. I had seen that on here somewhere before. Rode around yesterday but didn't get it up above 4500 rpm so we'll see. Noticed some trash around the screen when I pulled the old valve out of the tank. Could the liner be coming apart already? Bought it new in April.

Paul, I did the braided fuel lines without the filter and all seems to work fine and looks great.

And yes, some liners have been known to come apart early on. No idea why some and not all though.

Good luck:cheers:

Thought I'd update this. I haven't seen anymore trash out of the fuel tank lately. I believe what I found when I first did this was just some trash from manufacturing or could have been pumped in from a dirty pump.

Pingle fuel filter is working fine and has not affected performance or the ability to run out a full tank of fuel in any way.

Good post PaulHart, I like the 90 under the carb looks alot cleaner. The Pingle filter should be ok. I have been running one now for 3 years, however I still have the E carb.

My 07 mastiff had the liner flacking like crazy right of way. Shit kept clogging my screen. I had my tank off so many times i ended up stripping that shit out of there. My opinion if the tank is right no nedd for lining
