Another Battery Question

I was just reading another post about battery tenders. I didn't want to possibly hijack the thread so I started this one. I don't understand how our Big Dogs loose 2% of the battery every day. I'm pretty sure it's the same battery I use on my Harley. If the bike is in the off position or being ridden regularly, how is it loosing the charge?

I will be honest and say I dont know why it does, but leave it off a tender for 2 weeks and it will be a pain to crank. I dont know about the new harleys but my old shovel head was the same way. If it sat too long I would have to kick it off instead of using the electric start.

Kinda interested to know the answer also.

Could be because the EHC is powered directly from the battery, not through the ON-OFF switch. I do have my doubts about the 2% figure, however, seeing as how my K-9 would easily start last winter in freezing temps after sitting a month with NO batter tender attached...

my undertsanding is that a battery (any battery) is always either loosing charge or charging. It never sits in a constant state. One or the other. 2% does sound high though.
