Hola, I am considering running Amsoil Synthetic 20x50 in my 2007 K9 117. I'm ready to sign off on using this oil in the motor but after doing some more research and looking at the Amsoil information - Amsoil recommends that you use this same oil in the primary as well as the transmission. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've always used specialty products for these parts but using only one product would be nice. Thanks as always for any input. Thank the Gawds the weather up here in the NW is finally clearing up for some dry riding,

John is the man and has way more knowledge and experience then I do. I have used amsoil for years with good results in every motor I have had (big diesels to air-cooled twins) and specifically been running it in my harley's, big dog and iron horse since I have had them... just my 2c as well.

Schaefer oil is fantastic. We run their 75-140 With Molly gear oil in our rotary tables and they never heat up anymore. One rigs rotary would get to 160*, but with this oil it’s ambient temperature now. It’s about $700.00 per 5 gal bucket.

In all my motors of my personal vehicles and all my motorcycles, tractors and lawn mowers I run only Royal Purple full synthetic oil. Made local by Calumet refinery. When CeCe was in grade school she played travel soccer. One of the dads was a chemist at Calumet . When I found out what he did we talked about their products. He said what sold him was how the company services their vehicles. Every 10,000 miles they spin off the old oil filter and top off the oil. The oil is never changed. He said a true synthetic will never break down. But they have it in their brochure to change the oil and oil filter every 10,000 miles.
