So now we know Amsoil is no good in this kind of short test in room temperature. Not sure how much that test really tells about oil in motor... Interesting though.

I put Royal Purple in the HD trans last change going back to Amsoil!

it's the Moly in the oil. Royal Purple has more. More Moly means slicker oil which means less friction which means less wear! I have looked at 15-20 oil test charts. Trust me NO one comes close to these two oils. In the oil quality war's this is #1 & #2!

I wonder how these tests apply in real world, or should I say: I wonder if all the oils today are so good that wich is best doesn't really matter anymore if you change your oil and/or ride less that Raywood used to. ???

I never had any issues with Amsoil been using it everything from motorcycles to my Peterbilt since the late 80's..

never read or heard anything bad about Royal Purple either.

High Zinc oils are all the rave these days for motorcycles, like moly was a few years back.

In the end, as long as the oil is in spec, and you change the oil regularly, you should be fine. If you want to pay up to 4x times more for an oil that still should be changed at same maintenance time, then that's a personal choice. For me I use the same diesel rated oil for all my bikes, I change the oil when its due, and sometimes even earlier if my riding habits or conditions are out of the ordinary. From 110Hp - 350 Hp never used full synthetic, never had an issue.
