Amsoil Synthetic Super Heavy Weight SAE 60 Racing Oil

lah...lah....lah.....lah.....lah I'm not Listening lah.....lah....lah

Yeah I know this oil thing is being kicked to death but I gotta ask......

I have TPs and I am sick of the valve noise. Yes I have run the whole gammit of dealers and mechanics and they all say the same thing, basically. TPs are noisy. And I also know some BD owners with TPs don't have noise and others do.
We are dealing with my reality here and that is their noisy as hell.

If regular Amsoil is good would't the SAE 60 Heavy Weight racing oil be even better?
From their site:
"AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight SAE 60 Racing Oil contains no friction modifiers, meeting the frictional requirements of JASO MA and ISO-L-EMA; therefore, the combination of high viscosity, full additive system and wet-clutch compatibility make this oil an excellent candidate for use in air-cooled vintage and classic motorcycle engines such as the Harley-Davidson Knucklehead and Shovelhead models."

Wouldn't the high viscosity help quiet down the valves? Would it hurt anything to try it?
Come on giv ie too meee

No it wont hurt its good stuff, but you should consider dumping the TP boxes and going S&S.I did and very happy with the set up.You might also try to adjust the push rods or check them and make sure they are not too loose,if you haven't already done that.

be sure to let it warm up well before riding.... I used lucas 60 wt in my bike during the 1st 1k it was in the summer though.. then ran 50 wt till 2500 miles now lucas 20-50 synthetic..

I always let the bike warm up first. Ive got 13000 miles on this ride. I would like to change to S&S but just don't have the money right now. Also don't like the look of the S&S on this ride.
Running the 60 full time won't cause any issues will it?
I think I will jump in and check the rods this week. I've done it before and resolved some of the noise. The last adjustment was done by the shop when they ported and polished the heads so it may be that they left them a bit loose.

Thanks guys

I don't think you will have an issue running 60 wt being in the warm climate you ride in but have no experience with it.
My TP's don't run noisy at all.

Funny that in 05 BDM switched to TP rockers supposedly cause they run quieter than the S&S!!! EPA issues are just not polution but noise also.

Give it a try and see what you think. Worth a shot.

I don't use synthetic in my bike but I live in Michigan and I run lucas straight 50 wt oil. The high lift cam is much quieter with this oil and I get much better oil pressure.

I have the TP's also. What I have noticed is that with synthetic oil the valve noise is louder. I use about half a quart of Lucus oil stabalizer and it quiets them down a little. But the valve noise is not that bad in mine.
