Am I missing something?

Hey guy's I know this is talked about frequently,but,I've got a two yr old battery,it's hooked up to a battery tender since day one whenever not in use,I also have the battery bug,battery bug is about a year old,since I've had it it has said 13.5v's,life left 9% sometimes 0%.Now my question is,Shouldn't the batt.tend.keep the batt @ full charge,when it reads full charge?Ex:today I turned the key on and the Bug started beeping,0%life left,did not even try to start it,should I pull the batt.and put it on a regular charger or is the tender good enough and just ignore the bug.Just a ?,I'll prob.need a new batt this year anyway.Thanx in advance for your thoughts

Most people with battery tenders will tell you that it keeps their battery fully charged and extends battery life by years! After a winter of storage my 08 Mastiff cranked over like I just put it away after an all day ride.

I've only owned a couple of bikes, but have owned Jet Ski's for over a decade, and it seems to me, battery tender or not, these batteries only last 2 years. Any brand or type I've tried has always lasted 2 years. I run 3 jet skis. 1 year I have to replace 1 battery, the next year I have to replace the other 2 batteries. It's always been that way for me. I think it's time to replace my dog's battery too.

You need to read my report on the battery bug in the "How To" section. I contacted the company and there product runs on "algorithims" that monitor the battery for best performance. However it doesn't take into consideration the high (large) amount of juice required to start our motors. So basically that part of the bug is not rated for the life indicator it bases it's reading on.

Sorry Ray,somehow I missed that thread.Good info,answers the question on the Bug,I also read in there that the VR has a draw on the battery,which I guess with the bike on the sidelines for the winter it could drain the batt.down,although it is hooked up to the tender(24/7)in the winter,which leads me to ask,should I have at least disconnected the batt.from the bike and left the tender on? Next batt.may just be a big bore 350

Well,I started up the bike for the first time this year and low and behold the bit*h started on the second crank over,battery bug was beeping like crazy(0% life left)but it also read 13 V's,is there a way to shut off the beeper part of it,I'm sure there's not but since it's useless I figured I'd ask…………Oh yea the bike ran F'n awesome!!!
