What's the best way to find out if these recalls and technical service issues were taken care of by the dealer? My dealer is no longer a dealer obviously as the company is no longer building bikes...

Do the dealers have to register that these recalls and service issues have been done based on VIN?

You would think that BDPP would still have the data base available so I'd check with them at 316.267.9121 or contact them through the website.

They would if they wanted to get reimbursed for parts and/or labor.
Good Luck!

I checked out the 2008 Big Dog and it only listed Pitbull and Mutt. In either case, there were no recalls or service bulletins so I have the perfect Dog.:whoop:

Crap....now that I select 2008 BIGDOG Ridgeback, I get 2 recalls and 7 service bulletins!

Ok, I feel better. The two recalls were passenger peg mounting bolt resonance leading to breaking (don't normally have a passenger) and fuel line melting from contacting hot surface (also not a problem).

Of the 7 service bulletins, the EHC harness may have an issue (WP was installed), the fender strut bolts may fail (already replaced after a rough 500 mile ride), primary inspection cover gasket issue (replaced during maintenance), the battery side covers may break (fixed the ears myself), and the other 3 items seem to be just information for me to check during normal maintenance.

up at the top of the page there is a search feature in the tool bar, type in "how to adjust your clutch" , that will get you started.

Give the throttle a little twist and it should slide right in while setting still, or while your rolling to a stop try shifting into nuetral. If not then adjust the clutch
