I’ve taken my mastiff apart to do some repairs and paint I’ve recently put it back together everything went great bike runs good but now i cant get my belt to stay straight keeps going left I could turn the wheel sideways and it would still go left

When you start assembling the bike IF the motor n trans have been removed, place the motor and leave bolts a bit loose. Do the same with the trans. Then install the inner primary. This is to keep motor n trans straight. Add the drive pully. Get the rear wheel in place and add drive belt. Now you can roll the rear tire both directions. Adjust the motor/trans so the belt tracks even in both directions. This is what worked for me. All this assumes your swingarm is aligned to begin with. I know others will chime in with most likely better constructions.

I know this retrospective but I put spacers back on axle in the order they came off . After it's out.

Takes some guess work out .

And spacer against wheel, the little ledge faces the wheel and keeps the side loads off the bearing race . It doesn't fit into the frame axle slot .

I checked the spacers the bigger one was in wrong the lip was on the outside

Will an old belt make it harder to align the wheel with the transmission

Do they make an alignment tool i still cant get this bike straight

Is the rear wheel out of adjustment....ie are the axel adjustment screws set the same on both sides? If one side is off the wheel will track to one side/cocked. Are the swingarm bushings shot? If the motor/trans are straight but the belt still tracks wrong, check the above.

Not sure if im right but can you move the swingarm left to right ive been trying to align this bike I noticed if i shim the transmission with bunch of shims the belt will stay straight so somehow i need to if possible move the swingarm
