Hello Dogs & Doggetts,
Has anyone added air ride to their bike? If so how do you like it? Pros.... Cons
I have a 2005 BD Chopper DT and can get a screaming deal on complete system. Please chime in .

Thanks and God Bless

Got a Legend on my 04. For the most part I like it, but dont have much to compare it to. Did have to replace all the couplings at the end of this winter. I had the old plastic style and the new material is much better.

I've got Air Ride on the K9; its cool but I can't say the ride quality is any better off for it imo.

Be aware that the BDM air-ride is only one shock and the other is the regular one. This is due to not enough room under there on all the RSD bikes so ensure if get an aftermarket one that it fits.

I installed the Factory system the first year i had the bike. Love it, I think it improved the ride and i like it that the controls are all built in with the existing electronics.. And you cant beat the looks.. :D:D
UP Approx 2"

Down 1/2" maybe

I ADDED THE AIR RIDE IN 2005 TO MY CHOPPER, AND WHEN I GOT MY 2007 CHOPPER DT
HAD IT PUT ON IT.
HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT HEADACHES WITH AIR LEAKS FROM THE TUBE THAT GOES FROM THE SOLENOID, AND THE SOLENOID ITSELF.
DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED IT.

lots of people that have problems with leaks change out the solenoid for one that has screw on fittings and whala, no more leaks. you can find said solenoid ebay.

MY .02.....

I have an 06 k9 with factory shocks (no air ride) and an 05 chopper that had air ride already installed when I bought it........I much prefer the ride of the k9.......

The biggest complaint I have with the air ride is that every time you start off, you have to pressurize the system (or bottom out pulling away when you forget) and every time you want to park, you have to depressurize the system so the bike wont tip over while on the kickstand. Yeah, the looky-loos at the bar will say "that's cool" but the routine gets old really fast without any real improvement to the bike's ride......YMMV

I have installed the factory setup and got all the leaks worked out but havent been able to ride it yet to know a difference.

I have a 2005 Bulldog which the air-ride came standard and i can not tell much different in the ride compared to my 2003, but had nothing but headaches with air leaks

I had problems with leaks during the installation. I took all the fittings apart, cleaned, re-doped, and put it all back together good and tight and no more leaks. I ran it up to 150psi and the needle didn't move for 3 days until I let the air out.
