Air Ride system - reliability - issues

Looking at purchase on an 08 K9 with the Air Ride system. Dont know much about the air ride. Was curious about reliability of the system and/or any issues BDM owners have had with this.

I haven't heard of many issues regaurding the air ride systems on bigwigs at all.

My '07 has it...never had a problem with it

My 2005 Bulldog has it and have had several air leak issues.

My 05 bulldog was leaking quite bad, changed the gauge $15 no prob since..

how do control the air ride ? which buttons make it go up/down ?

to operate
1) power on
2) Hit the off button
3) hit start button
4) press hi beam switch to raise
5) press low beam to lower


Still chasing down leaks on mine ... but i like the air ride system, I will get it fixed I think its the 2 way valve not seating...

Yes you can... by doing what FiveFive told explained.

I have it on my '05. I'd never get it on a bike again. I've had quite a few problems with it leaking and replaced quite a few parts on it. If it breaks again, it's coming out. But as others have mentioned, they haven't had problems...

Nope...you always begin the sequence by hitting the off button

Are you sure FiveFive? I've always been able to do... that is until I put the wires plus kit in. I'm pretty sure I did it all the time, just skipping the "off" button once it was running. Maybe mine was set up different, but it was factory installed.

I have been looking at the Legend system as well as the SAS system. Which one do ya'll prefer.

you dont have to hit off, just start and the high or low. after a while it will default back to headlight control or you can hit start again to go back to the headlight control

Agree. Mine can be adjusted while riding.

I like the concept of 1-peice unit with self contained compressor.... but I remember reading something about fitment for RSD BDM's

I have been trying to find a replacement for my air shock and so far no one makes one that will work.
