Air filter element oil

What is the preferred oil for recharging the air filter element? For best performance and color dye.

K&N makes a recharge kit that i use. It comes with cleaner and oil. I would imagine that any brand name oil for the cotton type filters would be fine.

I have used K&N in the past. Just seeing what options are out there.

I’ve used K&N too. I read somewhere that Dawn diluted with water was an acceptable cleaner. I always use the spray oil, as I believe any motor oil-type application would be too thick. I could be wrong.

What ever you use, lightly spray it on.

I like to let them sit/drain for a day or so.
