AIH closed down

Paid a visit to our local BD & AIH dealer here in South Carolina......to the best of their knowledge the Horse only shut the factory for a month to slow production down. He delivered a couple bikes to NY this week and has four bikes more on order. Parts guy said he talked to them yesterday and thought everything normal and the closed-down, bankruptcy is a bad rumor......of course he has at least 12 on the floor that are owned out right. He also has never had warranty issues...been paid for his work, and has been a AIH dealer longer than BDM dealer.

So who knows what the truth is

I spoke with a friend of mine today who bought an 07 Texas Chopper at Daytona last year...he has less than 1500 miles on the bike and is having his fourth head gasket replaced. The dealer fixing his bike told him that he will have to pay for the repairs out of pocket, because they have not been re-imbursed for warranty repairs on AIH bikes since the end of the 2nd quarter of 07...about $35,000 worth. My guy has contacted the attorney general and is filing a lemon law claim to be reimbursed for his expenses. He loves his bike, but is pissed about the warranty situation.

That is what most would say with 120,000 in bikes setting on the floor. You know it's complete bullshit.

I guess I'm that guy, although I don't know anything about this 300+ frames thing. I can't find the last post where I proclaimed "all is well" 'cause I think it was during that temp server thing. BUT, orders were still coming in. Problem is/was, we didn't have the parts to build the orders because the vendors wouldn't supply them...because we owed them money (lots of it). Not faulting the vendors, they got a business to run also. When you're not selling bikes, because you can't build them, then the money runs out pretty quick. I said in that post that I will have to eat a big 'ol piece of humble if I was wrong. Well hell, I guess I just gulped down the whole fuckin' pie .

To all of you on here that have an AIH, you can still bounce questions off me. I don't mind. I'm more than willing to help. I can probably answer just about anything you can come up with. AIH may be in limbo, but that doesn't mean we are going to fuck the customers, at least I'm not.

interesting to say the least

My understanding from reading what the guys said about this last post was he was the shop making the frames for AIH. He builds the Frames for AIH and some other small builders.
