Aftermarket Key blanks

Hello everyone. My name is JP, and I am new to the forum. And let me be completely honest with you guys up front, I am a business (and human being so take it easy on me). BUT I am NOT here to spam everyone.

I am here to learn about the Big Dog Chopper in hopes to get some ideas from ya guys for some accessories for the Big Dog. Not advertise and throw my junk in your faces.

My number 1 question is, what is the aftermarket key blank (or original) for the Big Dog? Can anyone post pics of their key to get an idea of what they look like? Or a link of where i can order.

My feature (and I say "my" because I am the owner that makes these in my basement) item is custom skull key blanks for all motorcycles. I have had a lot of Big Dog owners ask if I could accommodate their choppers. But not a lot of info on the key blanks out there. So I thought I would go straight to the horse.

Again, I am not here to spam Y'all. If Im not welcome, please say the word and I will get my rear otta here.

That thing looks pretty damn close. I think someone on here may know the info you need, I know nothing about key blanks.

If you want to send me that one to try I'll take it to the shop have it made and see if it works I could use a spare.

Secondly, I just went to a key maker in a Shopping Center and they made me a copy of my K9's original key on the spot for 2 Euros! I cannot see any problems making copies of BDM Keys.

I have not yet ordered any blanks yet. BUT, if I am able to find what is to be the correct key, I will be more than happy to make up something to have someone win one of my keys or something like that. Maybe send out a few free keys to make sure they work.

Ill think of something.

Im not exactly sure what these specific styles are priced at, but the cheapest one without shipping is $15.00 (most styles),while the highest is $17.24.


I don't want to post any links up til after I have gotten permission. I have asked bubblehead and just waiting to hear back. Again, not trying to solicit, just trying to get a good grasp on what the correct key blank is for the Big Dog.

I think Ill try a poll.

I checked my notes and they say the blank is an ilco 1617 fic 1, good luck. By the way if you want to do a trial sample my key # is 37!! I love free samples.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned it yet, but I am extremely impressed that you came on here and didn't post your website. Everyone obvioulsy just wants to make a buck (no problem with that). You read the rules and contacted Tim, he's the guy that gives the clearance on these things.

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for reading the rules, and being an honest guy.



Some may think its a shitty rule, but if you paid to advertise on the forum you wouldn't want other vendors coming in and posting their shit for free. Also, the paying vendors & members are the guys who help pay the bill so people can get the information they need for free. Information like what kind of blank key it is :up:
