Adjusting rear wheel alignment HELP....

Hey Guys,
First off, I'm OCD and nothing is ever perfect in my world.Which is why the question.

I noticed my belt was a little loose, so I went ahead and adjusted it according to the manual.

My question is, when aligning the rear wheel, how close is correct. Is 1/32 close enough between the left side and the right side measurements?

I have the alignment tool to measure the distance to the rear axle and in order to keep the belt the right tension, once I torque the axle nut to 65 lbs, I'm off by 1/32 between the measurements from the left side, to the right side.

Is this within spec? Its not listed in the Manual.

Thanks,

They have no spec regarding that. If your off that much when tightening then allow for it. Move it that much in the opposite direction and then tighten again. I'm anal so I will try everything before I just give up and say ok. In addition you have to remember that there are other componentss that can contribute to alignment or misalignment. After setting everthing spin your wheel forwards and backwards and watch your belt movment. I like to get mine so that it doesn't move from side to side. I have found on my K9 that this provides the truest tracking and longest tire wear.

Everyone has their own way of doing it, but all I do is measure either side to get it close, get the tension right, then spin the wheel and watch the belt on the pulley. Adjust it so it's not riding against the edge of the pulley, I like to get it about a credit cards thickness from whatever edge it wants to ride on. This will ensure a proper alignment and no squeaks.

Thanks Guys...

Moespeeds, I figured that was the case. As far as alignment, it seems to track well, and its not rubbing anywhere. Thanks again.
