Adjure light and HID kit

I bought the HID kid from Low Down Chop Shop and have been running it in my stock lens. No problem there at all. Extremely good performance and did what I needed.

I like the looks of the Adjure #50400 lens so I bought one. (link: eBay Motors: ADJURE 5 3/4 WAVE CUT W/ BLACK GLASS DOT HL. #T50400 (item 110344723808 end time Feb-01-09 10:07:45 PST))

Here's the issue: the HID light doesn't fit all the way into the hole. The HID light has a small ceramic part that doesn't allow it to fit flush in the hole like it should. Jake says " File the lens area were the bulb drops in so that it fits good". Well, the part that needs filing in the bulb is most likely glass. I do have a glass grinder and might be able to do this. This offending ceramic piece is part of that the high beam is mounted to. So if your HID kit didn't have a high beam bulb, you aren't going to have this problem.

Has anyone on here put one of Jakes HID kits (with the high beam) in one of the Adjure lenses? What did you have to do to make it fit?

Richard

Here is a picture of what's hitting (click on thumbnail, look at arrow on picture). And how do I put a full size picture in this?

For a normal H4 application, that ceramic piece should cause no interferance unle,ss the socket in the lens was manufactured wrong. I bought a set of lenses off Ebay for my truck and the little notches and the hole had to be trimed on one but not the other. Cheap lenses. It the bulb hitting the little reflector inside and keeping it from going in or is the socket too small in the lens for the bulb to drop down into?

The bulb is standard H4, some of the chaep lenses don't have very good quality control, and I know Adjure has issues time to time.

I am going to grind on the new headlight and see if I can create an opening for it.

I will take before and after shots to document it.

yes, I ground the reflector side of the lens (it's plastic) and the bulb seated just fine.

I like the HID kit a lot, the Adjure lens is pretty low quality in my opinion, but looks nice.

I bought an Adjure for my bike and to say the least when I opened it up and saw the quality, I boxed it back up and sent it back.

My opinion, they are a little short of even being considered JUNK!!!

so do we have any other choices???other than the adjure???honestly i spent the better 1/2 of today lookin at the adjure lenses cause now that i got the HID kit installed i wanted that cleaner look that the adjure provides, then someone also posted how they bought one ...the black dot ice lens and said that the black dot interferes with the light and its just not bright enough...or something close to that matter...i really want the adjure lens and want everyones opininion on installing an adjure lens with jakes HID kit...how do you think it performs????????

The Adjure Lenses are only a Cheap Tiawan made crappy lens from the couple I have seen and had. If you look on the street rod web sites, there are more to choose from. Just watch though because alot of the street rod sites sell the Adjure as well.

I bought a so called "high end" $100 lens and when I got it, it was nothing more than a reboxed Adjure.

If my lens ever gets broke or needs replaced, I'll probably put a stock one back in because they are really a pretty nice made lens compared to what it out there.

A very good lens will have a steel back on it and not a plastic one.
