Looking at a 2004 Big Dog Chopper.

guy had electrical problems, and was more of a show bike. Had it rewired, pretty basic, no switches at all.

Key start (off/on/start)
Rear running lights, and head light on low beam all the time.
Brake lights work

Front turn signals are off the bike.
Has Z bars, with no controls, switches.

While it looks great. I would like to have at least a Speedo, and Maybe ad back in some turn signals. depending on how hard.

So can you add a speedo with say a mechanical cable to the stock baker 6 speed? or what are my options here. Really like the bike. And can deal with it how it is, but just looking to the future. I also see they make a 3 wire speedo sensor for the Bake OD6, (75 bucks) so I guess that gives me a signal? just have to find a Cheap small chrome Gauge?

I have been a lurker of the forum for awhile, but never posted. Will do a intro thread once I have the bike.

Also How hard is it to get the other singnals, Netrual, oil? The bike is reliabe the way it is, I just think it woul dbe better to have a speed and oil light, and maybe some rear signals at night.

Would take a little work but wouldn't be difficult to put in the basic items to get those functions and so keep the show status look of the bike

So what all is needed? how much are we talking?

Speedo seams like the speed sensor (75), and a gauge (100-150) ?

What about turn signals? what is needed? switches are not cheap

Signal dynamics makes some great products for turn signal control
I have their penta star operating my turn signals and brake lights. Even different self canceling modes

Thanks for the heads up I checked them out and they seam reasonable.

If only i could find swiches cheap haha

Depends on what your hand control setup is now.
Can you post a pick of your handle bars from the seated position on your ride?

Understood but what type of controls are on the bike?
Thin bracket, thick bracket, internal wires and cables, external wires and cables.

So not other help?

if I get the speed sensor for the tranny, what all is needed to make the gauge work? power and ground and the signal? does the sensor need power?

The actual speedo yes, power ground and signal.

Obviously, if you were to use a gauge with other functions, signals etc you would have to wire those separately.
