Accutronix - 3" Extended Anyone Hav'em?

I have the BDM 2.5 extended controls but could use another 1.5-2 inches. Spoke with Seatmaker about pulling some of the cushioning out of the back of my seat but that is a no go - not enough extra room. Called Accutronix today - they have 3" extended controls but that obviously only buys me another .5". The person on the phone said they are 1" beyond most standard position controls to start with so I would be getting 4". Curious if anyone has purchased these and how for they really extend. Are there any other manufacturers that make longer controls? Accutronix looks like they make nice stuff - but it is expensive. Thanks for the help!

How about taking your stock mounts to a machine shop and having them make you new ones, extended 2"? What year is your bike?

Look down where your forward controls mount, any reason why you couldn't just have a plate machined and then bolt your forward controls to that? You will need an extension on your brake line, and a longer linkage. I think that would be your cheapest solution.

I am 6' 3.5" and I too have and been using the BDM 2.5 entensions from day one. Recently I bought the BDM Chrome Tribal Forward Controls Kit and that extended my ass without asking for it. In fact it moved the clock on the controls out by at least 1 inch or better on top of waht was already there. I had to adjustment the shift lever (extend) almost all the way out. The Brake is a OK, but I now have to use use the tip of my foot to brake. Before the Tribal Forward controls I used the ball of my foot. Sound crazy, but it's true. Someone else on here bought the same thing and sold them because it moved his controls out to far for his comfort.

Carlos

BDWD,
I have the Accutronix forward controls, they run a bit different than most. They have 3 lengths...Kickbacks which are similiar to BDMs standard length, Standard which are equal to Big dogs 2.5 extended controls and then they have what they call there extended version which I think they claim is 3 inches. I am 6'2" and the standard fit me great. I had the bdm 2.5 extended controls before I switched to Accutronix and I think the Accutronix standards are for sure longer than the 2.5 BDMs, so I would bet the extended versions would work for you. They are great quality and look awesome. You will have to extend your rear brake line due to the fact of the line hooks into the front side of the cylinder and BDMs attach towards the rear cylinder on the side.. They are pricey (Probably looking at about $1000) by the time you get everyting but well worth it in my opinion. One of my Favorite Mods Ive done !! Hope this helps
