Have done alot of reading about this, and does not make sense. Had to change clutch cable. Got everything back together but when I go to put in the push rod it is hard to turn right away. Now I have read that you are to turn the rod clockwise till you feel resistance, I feel it right away. Is there something wrong going on? I left the rod where it was when I felt the tension and then adjusted the cable and no clutch, the rod seems to be perfectly straight. Any help on this would be great:2thumbs:

Hey adam, Sounds like the threads in the actuator and the push rod threads need to be cleaned or chased. The push rod has to turn freely for an accurate 'feel'. You'll have to remove them and the exhaust to do this. Hope this helps.........

You maybe feeling the resistance from the rubber seal on the inside of the actuator ramp assembly. This will give some resistance when you first start it. As said above be sure you are not cross threading it. When the rod contacts the clutch you will know it. It will be alot more difficult to turn. When this happens, back it off then turn in until you feel the light pressure. Then back off a 1/4 turn and lock it down. Now adjust your cable slack to an 1/8" or less of lever pull.
