A question for 05 Ridgeback owners

I have read all these discussions pertaining to clutch/ Trans problems and am kind of worried. I bought my 05 ridgeback back in february with 8K miles on it and so far so good. So my question is, does anyone own an 05 ridgeback with over 10k miles on it and HAVE NOT experienced any problems with the clutch or trans? Thanks

I have close to 13k on my 05 ridgeback. Clutch and tranny are going stronger than ever. :2thumbs:

You mostly only hear about issues on this forum. This makes some people think that since a few people have had an issue or two that everyone else will. This is not the case at all.

Stop worrying and ride it like you stole it :up:

Often times riders will experience issues due to riding styles, or mods that require factory installed components to operate beyond their intended design.

if you have an early 05 it could have the weak clutch hub that was prone to breaking.

I've got a 05 chopper and the only drivetrain problem i've had is the carrier barring. But not all 05's had the old style.

I got my 05 Ridgeback in Jan 05. After hearing all the clutch problems with the early 05's I ordered the Super Bandit Bruiser clutch. I took the clutch apart and found that the nut on the housing was loose ... just finger loose. So I pulled the plates since I had it apart anyway and cleaned it up and put it back together. The problem I was having was that I couldn't adjust the clutch like some of the threads suggested. But my plates were worn out and still wasn't grabbing 100%. So after the new clutch came in I swapped it out and it made the world of difference. I don't worry about the carrier breaking like some of the other members have had. It was easy to do with all the help from this forum. Great site! Good luck with your Dog. I wouldn't ride anything else. :flag: :up:
