Good Evening Dog Pound,
From my thread "Please Read" Rick, Kim and Melissa did not raise enough money in time to pursue the experimental medications to help Kim battle her cancer.

The family made the very difficult decision last night to call in Hospice for Kim. She is comfortable now and at peace with whats happening. Rick and I spent a long time on the phone today talking, praying and crying. He's being as strong as anyone can be at this difficult time in their lives. Kim has taken a turn for the worse this afternoon and Rick feels like tonight she may be called home to be with their son that went 3 1/2 years ago. Rick is at peace, Kim will no longer have to suffer or feel the pain of battling cancer and she will not be alone when the Good Lord calls her home, Greg is already there waiting on her.

Whether your a spiritual person or not I ask that at the very least take a minute to say a word for Rick, Kim and Melissa tonight, they need the support of this Big Dog family tonight more than any other time in their lives.

I have already talked personally to @Matt Moore and @Biker Babe so now that they know I'm letting everyone else know.

Thank You Everyone for your support and prayers,
Scott (Showdog)

Quick update-
The family was expecting the passing to come overnight last night but Kim held on through the night. I'm not a real spiritual person but can't help but believe that some of the support and prayers coming from everyone is helping.

I've been leaving Rick and Melissa alone today so they can spend this time focusing on Kim.

On behalf of Rick, Kim & Melissa, thank you for your kind words, prayers and thoughts!

Done. When my wife died and there was nothing I could do a friend sent me this poem. I also read it now knowing my daughter is dying from cancer too. Maybe it will help Rick:

The Journey
By
Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations--
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice,
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.

Unfortunately, Scott has lost 3 people this week.
Scott, you are dear person. I know all these people were touched by you in their lives and I pray for your peace and comfort during this time.
