a friend of mine has a K9, had some work done, long story short, they scratched the rear fender and deney it....
My question is, do you have to remove the rear fender to replace the swing arm, I beleve so, but I want any opnions. I beleve the sissy bar would also need to come off. Any help, my thanks in advance! as I think he needs to prove they did the damage. They removed the swing arm and told him they didnt touch the rear fender or sissy bar.

Unless he/she did a walk around with them to note any existing damage and signed off your friend will likely be at the mercy of the repair shop. It sux but that's reality

i may be wrong but i see no reason to remove the fender/sissy bar when removing the swingarm since the fender/sissy bar are not attached to the swingarm. it would all come out from the bottom after removing the tire/wheel/drive belt. disconnect the shocks and take out the pivot and it should come right out after disconnecting the brakes. that could be what happened right there, maybe they laid the brake caliper on the fender and it fell off. nah, the brake line ain't long enough to do that.

I have to agree with Wood. Just need to raise the ass end up high enough to get the rear wheel clear of the fender.
