A 'Defective' Thunder Heart Performance ECH Unit, Now What?

So, upon examination it has been determined by a tech at Thunder Heart Performance that the ECH from my 2004 Big Dog Chopper is 'defective', saying, " the module would not power up. I would see the LED light for a split second and go dark".

Yet... before I sent the unit to them for testing, my 2004 Big Dog Chopper started right up and seemed to run just fine and the shop I just recently took it to never mentioned anything about it having running/performance issues due to a faulty ECH.

Hence assuming I'm being given true information, what will this mean for me in the future with this defect being in effect as they claim?

What electrical breakdown or running failure will it give me do to this glitch in its everyday performance, what disturbances can I expect to come in its behavior due to this fact?

One of the old ones.
I take it from your post that the EHC worked fine, and you decided to have it checked. Thunderheart said it’s defective.
Something must have happened during removal or shipping. Did you remember to disconnect the battery when removing it? If not, did anything short out when you were working on not?
Sounds like you probably need to replace the thing and ride! I have always thought if it ain’t broke........especially true with electronics.

Turns out Thunderheart was utterly and completely FOS and incompetent, I sent the unit to an independent shop who tested it and discovered that it was perfectly fine, it was the cam sensor that needed replacing.
Just goes to show the so-called 'experts' are not always bonafide...

I have had great experience with Thunderheart.
Lost turn signals and brake lights on my 01 Pitbull.
Was in a hurry for a trip, so called "josh"at thunderheart, he said they would get right on it.
Well the electronic harness controller (20 years old) checked good,
they expedited shipping it back, armed with that knowledge I looked deeper into the bike.
the left turn signal switch had broken inside and caused the contacts to stay closed.
the switch felt good and the spring loaded button was good, but internally bad .
new switch and all is well Made the trip (400 miles) zero problems

Man that sucks! I have encountered the same stuff when trying to figure out my bike. Ya think you are taking it to someone you can count on for the correct information and they don’t know jack schitt!
