is that filter connected to any hoses, do you still have the origal filter assembly in front of the motor?

That primary model has the ability to run the oil filter there. If you still have the main oil filter in the front of the engine it looks like this was there just for show. Take a few pics of the engine front and the oil tank lines and trace them out. They way it SHOULD be connected is remove the oil filter and housing off the front of the engine and replace it with this one.

That set up is for a engine that doesn’t have a oil filter mounted on front of engine like the way big dogs come from factory. It’s made for more of a custom chopper application to clean up front of engine. If your filter is mounted on front of engine my guess it was dry because they didn’t need it
