if i install a 650 cam what is to be expected, will i have to clearence tappet block? change springs? whats the HP improvment? i want the bike to have more potato sound, valve overlap. i have 07 pitbull w/117 what is stock cam????
what particular 650 cam do you have in mind? A few of us are running the woods 650 - the high lift short duration on this cam is designed for torque rather than HP. You will most likely have to change your springs but everything else should be ok. The sound of your bike is determined more by your exhaust than it is the cam.
You should also look at your rocker arms you may have standard "non-roller tip". If you do these are not made for that high of a lift cam.
At minimum with the 650 as noted you'll need:
1. Compatable springs and rocker arms
2. If have the heads off while changing springs you should deck jugs back to S&S standard spec (remove approx .040 from the top)
3. A high flow air filter
4. $$$$$ How fast do you want to go:roll:
I really like that powder coated look! Who did the work for you? How is it done,.....were your jugs diamond cut after the powder coating? Were your cylinders smooth, polished, before the powder coating process? What does that process cost? Thanks, lou
