I bought my bike from carls speed shop in daytona 2007 k9 I had him put in the cam he recommended which is a carls evo CM612 cam thats what it says on the box. just wondering what everyone thinks of the cam. My buddy had the same cam put in his 06 K9 and dyno'd it I believe the numbers where right around 110 to 113 on hp. And no spring changes needed per carl on either bike.

Can you post your dyno graph? What is your peak torque and at what rpm?

Big horsepower numbers are great for bragging rights, but since peak hp is basically at max rpm (rev limit), I haven't heard or read about many people who ride at that rpm range.

I guess it's cool to know how much power your engine is pumping when you miss a shift or something!

Not knowing the specs on that particular cam, your bike might run like a bat out of hell on the top end but be a real turd in the low-mid rpm range.

CM612 cam info from Carl's website.

CAM FOR EVO BIG TWIN - Valve spacing required. These Cams are for the experienced rider who demands BIG horsepower. This Rider runs his engine on the street but occasionally enjoys a Sunday at the dragstrip. The valve train must be set up for these cams and we highly recommend using our Top Street or Unlimited Heads for optimum results.

As I said my buddy had same cam put in his 06 since mine was brand new I did not put it on the dyno and I dont have his dyno sheet sorry:( . but what do you think of this cam? And do you think its alright with stock springs Carl claims the stock springs are more than enough. I owned an 05 ridgeback before and this k9 with the cam is way more torqeee.

Judging by the cam specs that HDLARRY posted, it's got more duration than an S&S 600 cam. Should be a good cam, should really come on strong in the mid rpm range.

If Carl's did the work, all is probably fine! Those guy's have been doing there thing for a long time!
