I just changed out Postman's cam in his '08 K9 last week, it had a .546 as the stock cam and we changed to the 585. I sent S&S a e-mail and asked their advice on the cam swap before I ordered the cam. They advised me to go with the .585 if I wanted to keep the rest of the motor stock. Their advice was to shave the jugs, install roller rockers, change springs, and check clearance of the valve guides if we went bigger. Their input made up the Postman's mind, and his K9 also sounds great with a noitceable increase in power.

Im not trying to start any kind of war here, but Anthony knows his shit. He is certified by BDM and he was part of their R/D team. He knows these bikes inside and out and is the ONLY mechanic that is allowed to work on my bike. So if he says the springs are fine for the .600 then i trust and believe his word. My bike runs and sounds like a scalded ass ape now and the only problem i have with it all is that i waited so long to do this swap. So to each his own,run whatever cam you want its not hurting me.

No war intended, just passing along information given to me direct from S&S. I know my '99 Bulldog was a totally different animal than the '09 K9 is. I always try to do a lot of research before I plunge into something. I am wishing you the best of luck with the .600 and I wish no ill effects on your bike, I am merely passing along information that may benefit others sitting on the fence on cam choice. Ride safe brother.
