only if you take them to court. say you have 1 year left of warranty, how much are you going to spend to legally fight for your right? they know this and are exploiting it.

BASTICHES! :bang:
True by Pro and true by Sul.

mud... call BDM give them your project number (on the neck opposite of the vin goes letter then 4 numbers) they can tell you everything about the bike.

Ray... shitty cam was just easier than saying.... um... less agressive.

Ok,, for what it's worth...
Mike (salesguy) ,, over at Pat Clarks Big Dog in Vegas. Has been in Vegas 8 months or so. Before that, he used to BUILD some of the motors at BIG DOG. In fact,, he's going to pull out his "little black book" and let me know,, if he built mine. To cut to the chase. in 2004, some early engines came with a the .600 cam. later they came with -something like a .585 or .542 or .535 anyway- i can't remember off the top of my head. He is going to tell me, when i stop back down there,, after the holidays. When i called the factory,, gave them the VIN number,,, they told me,, it was not a .600.. . but one of those others. I've got it written down. Just don't have it in front of me. As i am visiting the Parental Units, until after Christmas. Whatever it is,,, it pulls good. My dyno sheet,, has a great profile..... and i'll see more,, when i get the TAZ installed.
I hope that helps.

Cam Specs

I sent an email on the customer service link at the BDM website, I send them my VIN # and told them I was the owner of the bike. I had to send two emails, but I got a response. They seem a little uptight about giving out info/specs.
For what it's worth, I have to agree that BDM is holding the info too tight. However, after a couple of emails, they caved and provided what I was asking for wrt the cam. To followup, I called S&S tech support with the engine number; they "pulled up the spreadsheet" and gave me matching specs.

And finally, I posted a spec sheet somewhere on this forum that has "the rest of the story", e.g. duration, overlap, etc.

Hope that helps...

NO and do tell!

Yes I believe all the 2004's had the 600 cam and 640 springs. It was 05 that went to the super E carb, restrictor plates, and the 569 cam. 06 went back to the super g, lost the restrictor plates but still shitty cam.
I have a 05 Ridgeback. How much more power would I see if I were to upgrade from the 569 to a 600? Would I have to change the springs to? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 640 cam is too much with a stock set up.

What about power increases if I upgraded my stock carb to a PSI or XXX along with a cam?

Thanks.

At least you got a reply. I have sent numerous e-mail to BDM with out so much as a reply. I think somebody at BDM has a happy delete finger.

the comp for a 600 cam is recommended at 9.5 and 10.5-1 so it should be good in a stock motor which BD says is 9.6-1 plus the rumor on the street is the stock springs will handle the extra lift. not sure about the valve guides but i'd run it till a tic or oil problem arrose.

the psi or the triple x joined with a high flow intake plus a 2-1 exhaust with the 600 cam would have noticeable gains. say stock is 90hp. with those 4 mods i'd say 110+hp. bump the comp to 10.5 = 115+hp. port the heads = 120+hp. 640 cam 125+hp.

all IMO
Thanks for the input. Looks like it just may be worth it to wait and do the comp bump, P&P and 640 cam at once for some serious gains.

Bring It!
I have the 600 cam heads done by john sach ported, polished, bigger valves, heads cut down to about 10.5: 1, S&S G with thunderjet, aftermarket ignition ( forget which one) and RB racing 124 challenge pipe. hopefully soon I'll get the psi carb and a better ignition. But money is tihgt now.
