Well I got my primary off and the rubber retainer looks like phatchopper300's pics so I think I found the problem.

Took the retainer clip off and the bolt was sticking out about a 1/4 inch. I pulled it out and the last couple threads were chewed up. The cam bearings, and cam look fine. I already ordered a new bolt and retainer clip. I'm hoping the threads inside the cam are fine.

Would W194021 be the right number?
Built in 2004, so it has the old style Main Shaft in it. Would be a good idea to save up some cash to get that replaced before it fails on you. Keep an eye on ebay, sometimes you can find one new on there. Otherwise you can buy from Baker. Good you found one of the problems. Hope you don't have anymore. Make sure you order the updated washe with the new bolt for that countershaft. The new washer is countersunk more. When you put it back together use RED locktite and 37 ft lbs. of torque.
That transmission also needs the updated C- clips for both C shaft and M shaft. Remove both seals and replace the clips with the ones made for that transmission. The groove for the clip was not cut deep enough so you will need the clip that is a little thinner. Explain this to Baker, they should know what your talking about.

I had some work completed on my 06 ridgeback at Strokers just the other day. My countershaft bolt had almost back out. Was getting a grinding noise from the primary side. I tore the bike down with the help of phat chopper 300, but I didn't complete the job because of some family issues. I'm glad you returned bigdogtech because during this time I believe you were relocating and joining the arm forces. Glad you're back bgdgtech1!

Here is what my countershaft bolt looked like. I would hear a squeeling noise in any gear. Also make sure none of the threads are in the countershaft clean it out. bigdogtech1 advided me that the countershaft could have walked and will need to be adjusted back in place. A rebuild might need to be done. I would hate to think you would have to go thru what I did. I got the updated washer and bolt put it all back together and still heard the same noise. Had to remove everything again and send it off to have it rebuilt.

What's a good price for a main shaft?
Do you guys know of a good manual that could help show these things?
What did the rebuild cost?

I purchased the main shaft off ebay for about $220. Baker sells the main shaft for I believe $250. A rebuild I think would be around $300-450. Make sure you have the upgraded or hardened main shaft while you are in there I know 05-06 models mainshafts had problems. Just little things I learned going thru this process. You might check with bigdogtech1 and see if he will do the reduild. He knows his stuff. Here is my tranny apart.

I'll rebuild it for undercost of Baker. I want to say they are charging around $100 labor plus parts. I would do it for $75 plus parts and shipping cost.

Ok thanks.:2thumbs: I need the cash for other things right now so I'm going to see if the bolt fixes it first. It should be delivered today.

It stopped raining long enough last night for me to take it out and everything shifted fine! Drove it around town for a while with no problems. Going to take it up to the springfield mile this weekend and test it out some more.

Thanks everyone for giving me the info I needed to get her fixed and back out on the road. It saved me a lot of money and gave me more time to ride!
