5000 mile service

Hey guys, Todd in Houston. Jointed the forum several years ago and even made a few posts but never did a formal intro and didn't want to get flamed for posting again. Bought my 05 Chopper in 04 with 1,000 miles and have loved every minute and only had a few minor issues. A few thousand miles ago I had the Woods 650 put and what a difference it made ! No other mods except BR's and extended controls.

Pushing 5,600 miles and figured it was time for the 5000 mile service. I'm normally a DIY guy but prefer to have Anthony at Mancuso do my service work because he's top notch and may catch something I don't. Is this something I should do myself or at least the fluid changes or should I support my dealer and push the work to them for about 600 bones.

Also interested in hooking up with riders in Houston.

Thanks!

Fluids I do myself.....ANY major service or tire changes....Anthony is the ONLY one i trust with my dog.

$600?? The 10K should run about $620 and 5K should only be about $325..but I guess it could vary dealer to dealer...

I was quoted around 300 a few months ago and last week around 600. Not sure if the service guy new what he was talking about. Also, just found out Anthony moved to another location which sucks. Have no idea who replaced him. Maybe someone will chime in with info....

Yeah Todd, DIY is sometimes over-rated, I have fixed, repaired, patched, and rebuilt every P.O.S. vehicle I own. I reached a point in life where I just want to ride it and put gas in it. I'll do the fluids and keep it cleaned, but I will probably pay a shop for most servicing.
