Another Great Dealer Experience.
OK, got to my appt early for my 5K, and the tech came out and helped me unload.
Then he started checking all controls while I checked in with the service manager. When I came back out he said my clutch needed adjusting. I told Thomas the Tech I had some things I wanted him to look at. Thomas said he found some things and named em, which was most of my list! Only other thing was the loose primary. He then took it for a short ride and said he could not hear or feel it being loose, but put it on the lift and tightened it up first. It took a small adjustment.
Then I stood with him most of the time and we chatted while he lubed, changed, adjusted and checked all the connections for tightness. We put a K&N filter and a louvered cover on(no labor charge for the install). Tech Thomas put my new (Group Buy special) oil filter on. Completed all the recalls and updates except for flashing my computer as he does not yet have the software for the early '06's yet. He can flash the late '06 - '07. It's all good, I do not have issues with the EHC or any of that.

My sweet spot is @2600rpm where I did the most time.
Man, have I been good to my pup or what.
Then, Tech Thomas spent 30 minutes or so installing steel braided fuel lines, and never charged me for the parts and labor. Hot Damn!
I asked the question about the Mastiff fuel tank and how does the fuel in the back of the tank gets to the petcock, and found out there is a dead space in the tail section, a baffle if you will that blocks the end, no fuel in there.
Now I wonder if the factory measures the outside of the take and comes up with a volume meause of what the tank could hold if all was utilized. I wonder as I have been on reserve and never put more than 3.4 gallons in the tank. Owners manual says in specifications on page 10, it holds 4.6 gallons total, but on page 44 under "fuel System" it says total capacity is 3.8 gallons. I gotta believe page 44 is more accurate. I think the book needs a clarification of this. I wonder what the true, real world tank capacities are for each of our models are?
My tech - thomas, also puts dielectic grease on all electrical connections on all bikes he works on all the time. Swears by it, as do most of us.
Their detailer washed my Pup, then dried the entire thing by hand for about 45 minutes.
The last thing Tech Thomas did was take it for a quik spin, then had me do it. Damn he does good work. Grade A Professional. :2thumbs:
Tanya our warranty claims lady (what a cutie :> ), tracked me down, introduced herself and thanked me for communicating everything in advance so there were no surprises and they had everything ready. Doug the service guy kept me informed of various things during the 4 hours I was there. The parts guy inquired as to how the bike was working out for me and if I had been riding our atv's lately (I have never bought anything other than BDM parts there). Various salesppl stopped by to chat about the Pup as Tech Thomas worked. ( I think most just wanted to watch the running boards operate on my truck as each asked to see em go up and down, and to see Quake, our Rott)
If there was an award From BDM for best Tech, our man Thomas at Steel Dreams in Burlington Washington, would win hands down. This is one dealer that I have not heard one complaint about. Tech Thomas says he would love to work on your pup, so stop on in. This is a great dealer and a big part of why BDM is a success!
