4" Forward Control Extensions-Finally!!

Thanks for the reassurance linx. I kinda have a long torso too but my legs are 31 inseem. I'm about 5-10/11" so it's goning to be interesting. I like riding stretched though so if I can reach & my butt's in the saddle I'll keep them that way. I think I'll like my BD a lot better than my warrior. I had 300 rear on it with tricky air so I could slam it low, but I still just couldn't get low enough. I'll post pic as soon as the site let's me. Utg, Saturday can't come soon enough!

Kaptin & Bowhunter,
I work for DOD and I am being deployed to Kabul Afghanistan this Friday 27 May for 6 months. This is my second tour ot Afghanistan. I am 6' 6" tall. I would like the 5" extension kit for my bike. Do you think I could have the kit by the time I get back? I'm ready to order when ever your ready. I need somebody to see this thru for me while I am gone. Please reply.

Thanks,
George Smith

Hey Folks

So we completed the Kits for the 3" and 5.5", the reasons for the two sizes have to do with mounting hole location and accomodation, but we realized that we missed something.
Some frames out there are Daytek and others are Rolling Thunder or a variation of such.
What that means is that the Daytek frames have an aluminum front motor mount and Control Mount and the alternate frame has a welded steel mounting system. Therefore we now have to make a different extension kit for the alternate frames. We have the heavy lifting done so it shouldn't take long to generate the alterrnate kit which will more closely resemble Bowhunters set up.
If anyone has any questions or requests, if I can accomodate I certainly will try, then feel free to email us at:
dmcustomfab@aol.com
Were super busy so please be patient with me if I do not answer immediately.

I recommend starting a new thread if you want to tell everyone about you're products vice piggy baking off an old thread.

Not really sure why you want to slam the extension kit that I did for myself and my riding buddy. Especially since I am the one that provided DM Custom Machine the templates they used to make the kits that they are now selling. The 6" kit I made works perfectly with no issue of scraping or difficulty in shifting due to the "clocking" I put into the plates. Promote what you want, but you don't have to slam someone's else to make yourself look better.

I sent the templates to the Kaptin so that he could start up production of the kits for the guys on the forum. Spoke with him several times to answer any questions he had, he said that he would be working with a partner and that they were forming a company to produce the kits as well as the stash tubes. I am not mistaken about the templates, they were just sent to the Kaptin instead of you. Good luck with your company.

Its funny how when I was looking for some extensions, I talked to Bowhunter since I live so close and he stated everything above to me before you guys even made extensions yet. He borrowed me some to try and get a feel for while I waited for Kaptin to make these for forum members. They were the six inch ext and never scraped. Was going to make my own since the first run made at DM was way overpriced then noticed one day that they were affordable. After buying a set it is actually amazing how close they are to the originals. Besides making them a little thicker and different lengths they look very close to the same. I'm not knocking them because they do work great but I am standing up for Bowhunter and do believe you might want to talk to Kaptin. If this conversation would have happened sooner I would have never bought yours and made my own. So with that being said you ride safe with all that arrogance.

This is flipping bazaar. Is Luckywolf Doug?

He seemed like such a nice guy when I bought my extensions. But this revived thread is ugly. He "piggy baked" :) an old thread which chronicles the history and lead-up to DM's current product. Luckywolf, did you not take the time to read the thread? Everything Bowhunter says is right there and dated! Aaaaaand... Pics of the prototype which look exactly like the finished 3" controls I bought from DMCustom.

This is not a good way to introduce yourself to the group. You were doing better by staying silent and letting your customers talk you up!

Brian(brhanson75) and Steve(Abaco21), I greatly appreciate you standing up for me on this issue. Once again, I did the development of the plates to create a forward control extension kit for myself and my buddy since we are tall and felt cramped up and the 2.5" extensions from Big Dog just weren't enough. I posted the progress in perfecting the kit on the forum with hopes that someone would make these available to the forum members. I have sent the templates to every member that asked for a set so that they could make their own and I asked the forum members if anyone wanted to take the trial and error research before coming up with the final kit, and make a kit for the tall guys on the forum. The Kaptain was the guy that took the ball and ran with it, and I am happy that the tall guys that do not have the capacity to make their own kits are able to get them from a forum member.

Bowhunter has gotten nothing out of sending the templates to Captain. There was quite a bit of money spent just in the R&D of getting the templates to work up. Bowhunter is a great guy and just wanted to help other forum menbers that are tall to be able to get some longer foward exten. For the partner of Captain to act like this is all his design is bullshit, why do they look just like the ones Bowhunter fab up .
