Well I was looking for some foot control extensions for my 2010 Bulldog. Long story short I contacted Doug at DM Custom after reading some post here and he send me out a template to mark up and after getting all the demensions he made me a set of custom 4" extensions. They look great and a perfect fit. If anyone is looking for any size extensions Doug does a great job and has customer service second to none. Here is a before pic and they rest are after. They look like glass.

Thanks Doug :flag::cheers::flag::cheers::flag:

NICE! VERY GOOD CRAFTMANSHIP. I AM 6'5 AND HAVE EXTENSIONS ON MY RIDGEBACK. MAKES A BIG DIFFERANCE IN COMFORT.

I have the 5 inch extensions from him on my K-9.
WAY more comfortable for me than the 2.5 I had from BDM

Question for you

I am having a problem 'sometimes' with my stock forward controls on my K9.

My size 12 boot doesn't always fall in the correct place and find my foot is shifting in an upwards manner instead of rolling back causing the tranny not to shift into the next gear. Does this make sense??:loony:

So does the 'extended forward controls' simply move the whole assembly forward or is the distance between the shifter and where the foot rest extended??

I need more room to fit my boot into.

Curt

OK I should have gone to the website first, I see there is a shifter extension as well. Looks like a solid, quality product.

You should be able to adjust where the shifter rest to some extent as the stock shifter rod has an adjustment nut on each side. You should be able to get at least 1/2 either way. The kits also includes the shifter extension as you noted as yes it moves the entire assembly forward. My size 13 fits just right.

Good news

Hey Johnny, thanks for the reply. Size 13:eek: I should stop complaining about my little foot:roll:

9secondsflat, I am 5'11 and find myself stretching out my legs resting the back of my foot on top of the footpegs and it is comfortable. So I am guessing that extended forward controls would make the ride much nicer. I am considering a purchase but not sure what size to go with.

so is it the foot size or the height of the rider which determines the comfort by putting extensions on..

how tall is the average person who puts extensions on their bike?
I think its all about where you feet rest on the bike. In the stock position I felt like me feet were straight down on the boards and I could not stretch them out. The extension simply moved my feet forward 4" and being clocked to where the heal is lower than my toes it feel much more comfortable to me. I would tell anyone considering extension to sit or ride a bike with them on first to see if they like it.

I am 6' tall and was planning to go with the 5" ones. When I installed the 5" test plates I wanted to be a little further back. The 4" length is perfect for me and I can put my heals on the boards and be totally stretched out. Reaching for the brake peg is a far as I want it to be for me with these.

So how tall are you? I'm 6'-4'' and would like to know if the 3" or 5" extensions available on this site would fit me better on a 2007 Pitbull. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It's not about how tall you are, it's about the length of you legs. To get a comfy knee angle. my jeans have a 35" - 36" inseam and I'm happy with 5" extension. Don't go for too long extensions If your legs are much shorter: Feet start slipping, no support while cornering and it may be more difficult to change gears when your toes are pointing straight up.
Not saying I'm right, but...
