300 mm tire??

Man you guys are killing me! I wish I could get that kind of mileage out of a 300, I have 24,000 on the bike and am on my 6th Avon almost 4k exactly on each one and they are done (well at least the middle is). Just as a rule of thumb, tires regardless of the amount of tread a tire starts breaking down at 5 years and should be replaced.

Just received a Metzler from JP cycles 2 weeks ago, date code 2513, mine only last 3 years anyway. I don't know if Avon got their shit together yet or not
3 YEARS, shoot i can't get 1 year out of a Metz or Avon on the shit they call roads over here.

The reason you and I cannot get a straight answer is because these dealers are trying to move the old stock that is cracking.

Avon claims that they changed the compound to eliminate the cracking/splitting on the 300's in Sept 13 and the 250's in Dec 13.
I can't find anything about Front tires but my best guess is they sell a lot more fronts due to more bikes using those sizes.

I was hoping to wait until spring in hopes that the new compound tires would be available but after a great ride on Sunday when I put the bike up on the lift to debug it and I noticed a shiny spot in the center of the back tire so I had to pull it out. It measured 7/16 of a long, just something else to worry about if I ride it. :bang::bang::bang:
