Ok I know I'm gonna get my butt kicked for starting another thread on this. I took the bike out and really wrung it out to get the jets right. I put a 66 airbleed in, took out the bowl vent plug, and after playing around for hours, it seems that 28/74 is a perfect combo, but doesn't this seem damn small? It runs really well now, no hesitation or stuttering at any RPM, launches great, awesome throttle response. 295/76 gives me a hesitation as it switches to the main. Anything higher on either of the jets makes it run like shit.

SS 117
Grumpys ground pounder pipes (short as shit) with torque cones
Stainless Creations open intake

Moe after effin with mine for weeks (trying to stay within what was the norm) mine wound up way dif than everybody elses with a stock 107. If it runs good and shows no signs of being too lean on the plugs .... I say RUN IT!!!!!!!!:2thumbs:

Another round please
This is info I got from a source at BDM. He has been on this site.

BH, **&&^^ HAS ASKED ME NOT TO REVEAL THE ADVICE HE GIVES ME ON THE WEB PAGES BECAUSE BDM'S LEGAL DEPT AND IT DEPT CAN MAKE HIS LIFE MISERABLE. SO... I PROMISED TO NOT DIVULDGE HIS NAME OPENLY ON THE FOURM. AS YOU KNOW, NO ONE KNOWS OUR BIKES BETTER THAN $$%%^ AND AFTER HE HAD ME CHANGE MY MAIN JET BACK TO A .074 AND DIAL MY CARB IN... IT RUNS LIKE BUTTER AND IS GETTING ME THE BEST MILEAGE YET. SO PLEASE, DON'T MENTION HIS NAME OPENLY ON THE WEBSITE. LET'S PROTECT HIM FROM REPURCUSSIONS FROM BDM AND WE CAN ALL BENIFIT FROM HIS FREE AND EXCELLENT ADVICE.

Vegas the problem is I don't have a new set of plugs in there, and as you know to properly read the plugs you gotta kill the engine in the RPM range you're trying to read. I did pull them last night (2am!) and the front looks rich while the rear looks good, but who knows what I was reading. I cleaned them up and put them back in. I'm leaving for the DELMARVA rally in an hour, so I'll give them a look when I get on the ferry. The advice of 2 very knowledgeable friends was to stop worrying about what the actual jet sizes were, and pay attention to how the bike runs, which right now is excellent.

I agree....give the bike what it wants. I'd shut it off at cruise and pull in the clutch and check them out.

Well I'm on the ferry now on my way to delmarva. With a passenger I'm getting 41mpg and both plugs look great. Its still stumbling a tiny bit in the midrange but overall its running great.

i had a 28/70 with a 60 AB when i last used the XXX G

tuner said i could even go lower on the main.

did you have head work done when you had it apart?

higher the air flow the more fuel it'll pull. IMO

I agree with your buddy who says to just tune based on how it runs. Reading spark plugs accurately nowadays is a nigh on impossibility, especially with unleaded gas and such. If it runs good then you're golden.
