yep no ehc, HD style hand controls, new grips, forward controls, new brembo brakes & thay are not chrome or pollished, black starter, & a gray engine... not a bad bike,, but thay need to get it to 20K or less, to sell it... check out the horn location.. in front of the oil filter above the the V/R.. I hate thay didnt give it its own name .. instead of copping the K-9
i agree with you 110%with the pricing comment. i think 18K-20K out the door and that thing would sell very good even in a recession. and they would probably still turn decent profit, if not in unit sales in volume. also about the K9 name, i agree. to give it its own identity. if i am going to buy a K9 then i think K9 big 117 motor, nice fat 300-330 rear. when i see this bike i think yes its a cool bike but its not a K9 its a name of its own. hats off to Big Dog for trying even in these bad times. and i personally think they have a winner. so good job to them. just work out the little details.

Hope they sell tons of them. Not a bad looking bike and definitely has some positives with the hand controls and no EHC. :2thumbs:

glad to see Big Dog moving forward in this struggling economy..... :2thumbs:

When I say Big Dog to folks around here....they reply Thats The One With The Fat Tires So I would have liked to see that chopper with a 360 rear.....Call It "Fat Dog"

After looking at the pics of the blue one I believe I would personally spend the extra money and get the coyote.
I think the big dog proprietary parts have more class.
I do prefer pro street style so I may be biased.

Love the Harley controls too! Not a fan of non-polished engines unless they have been power coated or something. Just looks cheap.

yeah i admit after i saw those engine pics that does look cheap. but you can always get some after market diamond cuts heads to spice it up. i have a feeling that new bike with its set up will be very reliable.

I was at the factory the other day, they had several of these bikes ready to ship, I was able to check them out real close, yep its a harley primary and hand controls, and no LED lights, one of the guys said the over all lenght is shorter than a K-9 or the chopper..some I seen had high end paint jobs...still a good looking bike, I'm with the rest of ya, if it saves BDM more power to them....

I agree they need a cheaper model. I think the price is fine. It's hard to buy a harley for less than 19k and it doesn't have nearly the chrome, power or bigger rear tire.

If you added those options to a new harley you would have a lot more in it.

I think it's great Big Dog has done away with the ECH

I think we all agree this is a great step in the right direction for the company, the price point is good but.....it needs to stand by its self as a "Chopper" not the K-9, and I think we all don't like "The Greyhound", I hope this will help sales, now will banks even finance these bike seeing how Big Dogs kinda on the edge ????? thats the big thing people need to be able to get financing

I like it but not the name. BDM could have chosen a name to truly give the bike it's own identify. This one should move the company in the right direction however I think the price should be closer to 20k. Let's face it most do not have the disposable income as a few years ago and financing could be an issue.

I will agree with jbotts I'm not a fan of plain non-polished cases or jugs either. Should offer a powder coated option w/black being one of my choices.

I like the style of my BDM primary better. Better yet if it wasn't proprietary trans, starter etc..

This bike Greyhound? has good appeal and should draw in some new sales.

I like this bike - prefer to see it with a 300, but that should be reserved for the top end models...

My only concern is the future availablility of proprietary parts - I hope BD will untie the hands of vendors and allow companies like Baker to sell parts directly to the customer after the warrranty period expires...
