thanks Jwooky, but the Bagger is different.

Does anyone have this type of diagram for the bagger?

RETIRED
In the process of taking off the coil cover in order to replace the ignition switch when I removed the top center bolt, a washer or spacer fell down behind the transmission never to be found again. I will try a magnet tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what that looks like and where exactly does it goes.

Hope this helps.

if my thinking is correct, that washer is gonna be a fiber washer. non-magnetic for insulating the cover from the heat of the motor.

Thanks Paul for taking the picture, I found the washer yesterday, it's meta and rusty. I just went down and looked to see where it might fit, there is no place for it, it's too small for the bolt and based on Paul's photo above there's no place for it. I'm starting to think it was just stuck in there until I removed the coil cover.

Donna is sending a new ignition switch, it will be here tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if this will solve my speedo and tail light issues. I will update after I get it installed and test ride.

UPDATE, I replaced the ignition switch today, I tested the bike on two rides and around 70 miles, all the speedo functions and taillights are normal.

When I started this thread, everyone one said it was the EHC or ground, who would have thought it was the ignition switch, I wouldn't have. I sent the EHC to Curtis, he sent it back stating the EHC was working properly except the power up circuit. If you go back to the second page of this thread you will find two attachments, the first being the BDM EHC fault text which shows the Power Up Circuit and what it controls. The items listed there were the ones I was having failures with.

My point here is the electronics on these Bigdogs are much more sophisticated than most people realize. I would highly recommend that everyone save the Fault text guide. If Curtis hadn't sent me that I would had to send my bike out somewhere where they would be looking for the problem in the wrong place.

I hope this thread will help someone in the future.

Glad you got it repaired and thanks for sharing the info. I need to print the pdf"s and stick them in the service manual.

I just bought a ehc upgrade from Curtis my speedo lights up but dont work my horn stays on when i hit it until i turn the key off my brake light doesnt work when i hit the front brake and i only have a high beam in my headlight. The bike hasnt ran in 3 yrs so could be a bad speedo (common) burnt bulb in headlight a bad front brake switch and the chip for left side controls Just really scarin me cause similarities when original ehc went bad and seems like alot of problems to go all at once. Before i start buying parts i may not need, anyone know if theres a way to check the new ehc from Curtis?
