Doesn't the ARB report say several models were tested with both the 117 and the 111. I can not see them making this many combinations with the decrease in sales volume.

With twin boys both in college the only way I will ever see a new BD would be in the 20K and under range.

..As I've stated in other threads I really think many here will like the 111 motor. Yeah I know it's 6 cu in less but you have to ride it to see that it's a good strong, quiet motor and the new transmission is a dream. But that's comparing it to my ole 05!..QUOTE]

Ray, you've ridden one of these and have commented how smooth it is. Is the 111" motor is balanced and rubber mounted? If so, I wonder if this is going to be offered just on the Bulldog Bagger or will BDM offer this set-up with all the 111" engine applications? I know Harley has two versions of their twin cam engine...one balanced for Softails and one not balanced for rubber mounts...go figure??:loony:

I rode the Bagger a couple weeks ago and the 111" is very smooth in that, being rubber mounted. But the power is no were near the 117". It is a smoother running motor, but not the power, and it is noticable.

I jumped from the 2009 Ridgeback with a 117" in it right over on to the Bagger with the 111".

The 111 is a "square" motor 4 1/8" bore, 4 1/8" stroke. As the 117 is 4 3/8" stroke. Might rev a little higher with less vibration. The non Epa version was like 9.75/ compression with the .585 cam and G carb. If the compresion would be left alone, any cam swap would be easy for a little pick me up as well as pipes, air box, and carb mod. V

I don't understand, why build the chopper when you have the K9? It's the same bike. I agree that BD should build a bobber, it's where the trend is going, even though I think they look like mopeds, guys are buying them. As for reliability I think that aside from the completely retarded electrical system, they aren't bad for a custom. Hard mount a 117 motor to anything, and it's going to fall apart. HD has everything rubbermounted with a tiny motor and an integrated transmission. This eliminates a good deal of the vibration that tears the bike apart, but in my opinion you lose that visceral feel that makes it stand out.

They aren't the same though. the Chopper is a MUCH smaller bike. There are shorter guys and ladies that ride Choppers that could never pull off a K-9.

I was told that this 2010 Chopper is supposed to be totally changed.

I don't see why they don't offer the K-9 in a rubber mount motor option. It would be a industry first and Cool and smooth. They rubber mounted the Bulldog, what's the difference? :loony:

I'd be up for a new chopper if my bike wasn't worth peanuts. There lies the major problem. It's impossible for us to trade up unless we want to get the same bike for twice the money. I used to trade up every 1 or 2 but that all came to a screeching hault.

Has anyone here thought about or tried to rubber mount your big dog? Just a thought.

Guys, I have a friend with a 107 Pitbull and a .600 cam. It is a real screamer.
Agree - I had an old (non-epa) 107 with 600 cams and the thing was a beast....

One thing about a frame mount Evo motor.... it keeps the gals on the back of the bike happy :)

I like the raw feeling with a frame mounted motor - riding my Road King is too smooth and reminds me more of a BMW then a Harley. But to each his own....

After owning a Harley super glide I was conserned with getting a rigid motor mounted scoot but I love the the way it feels
From what I read i taught it was going to be bad
Except for not seening that good out of the mirrors I can't complain

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
Whos to say the newly rejuvenated 2010 chopper isnt rubber mounted motor set-up???The chopper is a timeless bike that in my opinion will never die,i loved them when i first set eyes on them in the 70s peakin through my dads EASYRIDER MAGS and i love them today, well even more now ,cause the big fat tire in the back is just plain ole kool, fat tires will never die,if this was the case that they were goin out in style well then tell me why everyone of the 2009 hotrods off the floor come with big fat tires...is an age old classy trend that will never dissapear.....same guys that buy hotrods are lookin at these bikes....for they are the hotrods of the bikeworld.........compete with a screaming eagle, why do they call them screaming eagles.....cause they gotta scream to just keep up with an S&S powered bike that is just cruisin.........:flag:

I agree. I love the fat tire. The fatter the better in my eyes. I wish they would build something with a 360 in a prostreet. Seems like a lot of guys are still doing that today. If the wolf had a 360 I would trade in my pitbull tomorrow. That would be fucking sick. Just my opinion though. I do like the bobbers as well. If they came out with a cool bobber for 15K I would buy one. I think brass balls bobbers has done a great job, I just wich they were a little cheaper.
