Ok boys, you get them here first. Here are some more pics of the 2010 BD Chopper.

I must make one correction from my first post. The transmission is not a Baker unit but for cost savings it will be the new RoadMax which is half the cost of the Baker unit. So far it's passed all road testing without failures but isn't firmed up yet for production.

There you have it. What do you think???

I like it. I mean, I like my K9 better, but I do like it. I think Big Dog is moving in the right direction as long as they still keep the production up of their current models and then just offer this one as a cost saver. It looks like standard HD-style hand controls, and I surely like my "custom looking" hand controls better, but it's a value-priced bike right? It also looks from the pics like it has risers and bars, ad not just the pullback bars like we have. I like my bars, but it's going to be easier for users to customize the feel to match perfect by just changing out risers.

All we can hope is this pulls Big Dog out of the ditches. Does it hurt our resale value on our bikes? Well, maybe, but the company going out would severely hurt the resale of our bikes just like it did the AIH bikes. I'd rather have my bike depreciate than to not have dealer support at all.

Thanks for sharing this. I've replied on the other threads too, but I didn't get too deep on those threads.

i like it, and what is better on this model is BDM's struggle to pull it out.
IMHO I prefer the 04-09 pegs and controls, also the other the other primary 05-09 looks better but for costs this one its ok. gettin rid of the EHC puts an A+ to BDM.

my .02.

Um..........looks WAY to much like a Honda Fury (sans the motor). Maybe its the plain paint job.
I would say the h*nda fury looks too much like this bike since this one has been around since 03 now.

Nice bike though at the lower price point!!

TRUE.

I looked at the fury at my local Honda dealer. They did a decent job EXCEPT for the chrome cover plastic pieces. Although they will be cheap to replace in case of an accident. Nice bike for the $$$$

I do like it but I hope they didn't go Made in China to make it happen. It would be hard to cut 6k out of the budget.... Maybe it's due to less overhead and margin.

Really like the chrome foot and hand controlls, wish mine had come with that..Do not like the primary, but they gotta do what they gotta do to keep the price down.

Ditching the EHC? Something they should have done YEARS ago...would have saved them tons of money and grief, as well as eliminated the #1 comlaint on their product.

But as they say...better late than never!

Good to see this model revived and updated, as well as competitively priced. BDM seems to be on the right track!

I gotta say I likey! I wouldnt trade my K9 for it but if they had this back when I bought my K9 I may have opted for the lower price. Way to go BDM.

when i bought my 04 chop, their were two components that i wouldn't settle for less 1 S&S engine 2 Baker transmission, so i guess the engine has been dropped to a lesser TQ 111 ci for less stress on the Korean Roadmax trans. that makes sense, i do like the real on/off switches but the shiny controls look cheap.its reminding me of AIH at least on some years they offered the Baker Upgrade on some of their bikes, makes me wonder how many other components have been whored out to the Asians to save a few bucks, common sense has been telling me that BDM would be doing this even more than the past years, but its good to Finally see the nightmare EHC GONE ...Dave.

Having rode the new bagger with this motor, this is not a lesser motor. Very crisp and responsive. I rode the new 111ci after a 375 mile fast run acroos WA into Idaho. Rode the Wolf same time, swapped back and forth. The 111 felt like it had more power than the 124" and more than our 117 motors. Everyone that was riding these bikes thought the same way. And remember, the bagger is a fairly heavy bike, and the 111 still felt like it had more power.
The new trans is not set in 100% stone, but the factory is leaning that way as in many months of testing, there have been no failures, none.

It would behoove everyone to head to their dealers in June to test ride all the scoots they are interested in and see what fits them best. This new scoot just may be the best bike for you.

I will be riding one just as soon as that show truck comes within 500 miles of here. Scott, Rick? Hear me? Let me know when you will be in C'da or Boise, or Redding. That would be a nice day ride.

I wanna ride this new scoot.

Many good changes IMHO, especially in the electronics department. I still prefer the propriortary primayr though which makes the BD stick out even more from other types of production customs.

Good price though and hopefully will bring in some new owners and helt keep the company going through the hard times so that they and thus us also, can be around later to help support us. Let alone bring many new happy owners aboard.

Very Nice:2thumbs: Building something like this should do very well:2thumbs: KnotSo is correct about the motor. Very reliable, and powerful power plant. If I could choose between a 107", 111" or 117" I would go with a 107". That 107" runs even better, just my opinion.
Not bashing Baker or BDM, so don't take this that way, but... that Korean made Roadmax Transmission is a very reliable upgrade. It is around $1000 new and seems to hold up a lot longer than the Baker. I have only seen a few problems with these in the AIH motorcycles. Keep in mind, look at KIA and Hyundai cars, made in Korea and they are becoming very reliable and seem to be taking over the US. We now even have a factory here in the US to help support that. Don't get me wrong, I am all for American made products:flag:.. But also for cost savings as well. If you get cost savings, reliability, and still have the great looks , I'm all for it:2thumbs: As log as they keep building the bikes here in our country:2thumbs:
That's my 2 cents:D
