2009 Wolf Fuel Fill Issue

Good morning,

Yesterday, I had about 110 miles on my Wolf and I started fueling and it only would take 1.5 gallons. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what should I look for to repair the issue?

Thanks,

Dale

Its an EFI bike, so it does not have an external fuel lever. As for the crossover hose, I have looked up the parts diagrams, but I could not find one for the Wolf tank. I looked in the service manual and it does not mention a crossover hose. I know many Big Dogs had crossover hoses in the split tank setup, but I have understood that the Wolf is not a split tank. It has only one gas cap.

the 07 Bulldog and 08 Mastiff have a crossover pipe under the tank at the front . your may be similar.

Thank you! I will check for that. That makes sense because it acts as though it wants to only fill half the tank. I bet it has a rubber crossover hose that has an obstruction..

Did you go 110 miles since your last fill up? If so, something isn't right. That's about 73 mpg. There's no way you are getting that. You should be around 50 at best. I wonder if your speedo needs calibrated. It may be saying you did 110 miles, but you actually did a good bit less.

I just thought about this. Is your speedo set to kilometers? 110 km is about 69 miles. That would be reasonable for 1.5 gallons.

My speedo is reading correctly and is set on miles. I think i may have an obstructed crossover tube. I looked at the bike aboput an hour ago and it has the crossover fuel line, and I read somewhere as the rubber ages, it may swell and not let gas crossover.
