Big Dog Motorcycles All New 2009 Wolf Will Make Sturgis Howl

X Wedge 121 ci
Drive Side Brake
220 rear tire
Single Down Tube
Optional Detatchable Bags

Coming soon to a dealer near me.

Hell yes I want one!

Sounds like a kick azz motor :whoop: .... I guess with the single down tube and drive side brake made it impossible to put at least a 250 rear tire  ... Tire size seem too small for us used to the LARGER  tires... still it should take Strugis by storm.....:2thumbs:

Smart to build a bike with a smaller tire. I wouldn't buy a 300 bike. Neither would every friend I ride with with exception of one that rides a k9.

I saw the prototype at lacrosee for the 50th anniversary party. talked to the rep about an hour. told him i am on my 3rd big dog..so he wanted to pick my brain lol. he was a nice guy but cant recall his name. the bike looked sharp...sat kinda high for what im used to but felt ok. the real gem is the x wedge. this motor looks tight.

A lot of BDM owners have an HD or other Bagger also. It seems like a good idea for BDM to come up with something for the Bagger market.

I would love to see a single down tube and more over the drive side brake... that's sweet!

 Some of you are back from Sturgis and while we all are waiting for the pics, what can you tell us about the new Wolf and other developments for BDM?

Here is what I heard and saw in Sturgis with the new Wolf. It's a beautiful bike and if they come out with a chopper version I may think seriously about getting one. Glenda got her picture taken by "Hotbike" magazine on the bike so maybe we will see it in the mag!! The BD techs say it is awesome to ride and it feels real comfortable when sitting on it.

First big change is the speedo. Check this one out. It has two buttons, it displays your speed and the large window will display you RPM in real time so no more 500 increments. The window will give you the option of selecting speed or RPM also. It will have a couple tripometers for your enjoyment. All the idiot lights are on the inside, you can faintly see them. Notice its a lot larger now that it doesn't have the tach ring. Best part is it will be retrofitted to fit all our bikes at a later date!!

Here are the struts where the bags will mount. Look closely and you can see the 4" piece that you remove to mount the bags. For you that asked about the tire size (220mm) I was told by Nick Messer that it was so the rear end would look to wide. I like the look of the 220.
Also this pic shows the brake drive side system making for a clean left side.

Another great thing is the EHC connection style casing will be reversed. On yours the harness is female and slips into the EHC (male). This will be reversed so the harness will have the outer casing that will slip over the outside of the EHC to prevent water and stuff getting into it.
Also notice the gas cap is moved to the high side of the tank with on the jiffy!

I requested to receive the first retrofitted speedo and test it out. I want one now. Think I will get it? :D

This is one beautiful bike.

Looks like they've made some great refinements... and last time I saw it it was blue.

The rear tire may be narrower at 220, but it is also taller, so that changes the look and feel as well.

That x-wedge sounds sweet when it is running, and the BDM people I talked to said it generates some massive torque, so it must be a hoot to ride.

Sounds like I need to make up some reason to have Boeing send me out to Wichita again this fall, if they are going into production. :D
