2009 Big Dog Mastiff Exhaust

I have a 2009 Big Dog Mastiff with stock exhaust and I am wanting it to be louder. If I put Vance and Hines 2 into 2's on do I also need the jet kit and what else will I need to order? Also, the pipes that I have seen state that they fit up to 2008 models. Will they still fit 2009?

there should'nt be any difference between an 08 or 09 as far as the V&H pipes goes, to get the best performance you will have to change the jets, also if you don't like the sound of the 2-2 pipe there are different ways to alter or replace your baffles in the pipes.

There are many threads on here about this, I reccomend you do a search

welcome the only thing I didn't like was the mounting bracket on the V&H wasn't chromed. Getter chromed.

Aspen874, I see you have added the 2-2 pipes. What else did you have to do to add them? Just jet it and change the pipes?

I didn't like the sound of the baffles that comes with the pipes (personal opinion), I changed to the Big city Thunder baffles and change the jets.

The one thing I strongly reccomend is you rap the rear pipe with heat tape from one inch below the flange done to around six inches and secure it with stainles tie raps to prevent heat damage to your right side cover, the heat shield will still cover it.

I checked mine and they are fine after 10,000 miles, I wonder if you can position the heat sheilds different from one to another? Mine show nothing from heat damage.

mine did it and also on a friend of mine's 06 K9. I don't know why some bikes do it and others do not, but when you are installing your pipes this procedure is cheap insurance
