2008 Pitbull

Hey guys, I'm looking at a 2008 Pitbull but a little concerned about the whole rigid frame thing. They did let me test ride around the block but that wasn't a great indicator of what it will be like at 60 MPH on a bumpy back road. I guess my biggest concern isn't so much comfort as wondering what the chance is of losing the rear end in a bumpy tight turn. I really love the styling of the Pitbull much more than the Mastiff (want a pro street style) but should I reconsider and think about the Mastiff instead? This will be my only bike and I won't be doing any real long rides but will be hitting the back roads and parkway for 5 - 6 hours at a time. Am I looking at the wrong machine for this?

Thanks,
K

I've got a 07 pit & love it yous will be more comfortable than most ridgids, there is just a great feel when you ride a ridgid, yea its a little stiff & bumpy youll learn to watch for pot holes, you really get to feel the road.. but youve got the cash to spend a softail is better on the back, I've got 2 other bikes that are beter ride, but thay just dont feel as good as cruising on a pitbull

Have an 08 Pit and a 1200s touring bike - of course the latter is smoother but I can ride the Pit all day without getting tired - a good piece of engineering & craftsmanship. My wife's rigid on the other hand - that's a short ride and a bike that lives up to the traditional rigid reputation. In a nutshell, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Pit!
