2008 Pitbull rear tire Try Europe

As many may already know, Pitbull's were redesigned around a tire by Avon and Avon NO-LONGER manufacturers the 280 40/R20 89V tires. I was fortunate to get the last one Retrocycle had here in the states for $380.00. However, I found some in Europe and want to share where they are even though they are much more expensive at this point. with shipping it"s probably gonna cost ya $500.00+. PartSale.eu has some. Ask for Maksim
Hopefully Dunlop or Metzler picks up the ball!

Hey I talked to 2 of the people from Avon out in Sturgis this year and they said.. they'll be making some more of these sizes for the pitbulls

Dave at BDM said Avon won't make them unless BDM ordered 300 minimum and that they were in negotiations with Metzler and Dunlop and as you may know BDM has closed it"s doors again. I hope you're right!

I was told by Avon Germany that they will produce new tires when the old production is out of stock.

Boss Hoss uses them here in Europe and also two known custom bike builders - Thunderbike (2012 AMD winner!) and Rick's still use them.

We still have a stock of app. 70 rear tires sitting around here at one dealer.

@GERMANBIKER just googled Thunderbike (2012 AMD winner) that's a bike made by Harley Davidson uses a 130 rear tire. Yes Boss Hoss uses AVON tires but not COBRA-VENOM 280 40/R20's. AVON stopped making them. Haven't looked at Rick's.

I hear ya I have the same problem with this bike.
I been telling people since last year about this nightmare.
Love the custom bikes but is it worth the hassle with all the part problems.
So much for buying American.

There isn't much we can do, you can't go to 18" rim and tire on the rear because the frame will hit when cornering. The bike will be inoperable without these tires. :bang:It sucks being at the mercy of the manufacturers Big Dog used.
There is also a lot of prioritory parts that BD can only supply.

Love the bike hate to go back to a regular bike.

I spoke to a guy named Mick on ebay uk. He is a seller and he gave me this info:

Hi there, i have been informed by Avon UK that they will be producing these tyres on a one off run in early part of next year around Feb 2014. Not sure if you can wait that long but its the best we can offer currently. Please let us know if you want us to back order one for you? Please accept our apologies regarding this shortfall with your order.

Looks like they're going to make some in February so heads up for all you guys who need a new tire.
I found one on ebay UK and will have it in the next couple of days.
