I am working on a 2007 BD Mastiff and the the Clutch nut has been Red loctited to the max. I have the steel bar that goes between the clutch and the front sprocket and my imact on max (at 140 lbs air pressure), it won't budge. I have done a bunch of HDs, BDs, Iron Horses etc and always was able to get the clutch nuts off.

Just want to confirm this is Left Hand thread on this year model (I know the that HD went to RH Thread on their 6 Speeds).

What have you guys done to break a stubborn one?

What is the Correct Torque for the Clutch nut for this year bike (I have seen 80 ft/lbs when I did a search but it was for a different year)?

Thanks

use a impact wrench.. right is lose ..left is tight.. I think the torque spec is 100ft lbs now. I use a impact to install it to..

Use a breaker bar or get a bigger impact wrench, it is left threads. Mine came loose twice, once at 90ft/lbs and once at 120ft/lbs. this last time I took it to 150ft/lbs to seat it and then removed and loctited it and tightened it back to 150ft/lbs. It hasn't come loose since. I read somewhere on here that max torque that the threads can take is 200ft/lbs.

I got it broke loose, heated the nut with a heat gun just a little and went at it a little harder with the air impact. Thanks for the info.
