2007 K9 Special Edition

Looking for a little assistance on a potential purchase. I am eyein' a 2007 K9 Special Edition. Is anyone aware of any problems/issues with the '07 K9s or the Special Editions in particular?

I'm pretty sure the special edition is the same as the K9, but a limited number and a different paint job and wheels. It probably also has the chrome package.

Problems? Only problems I've seen on any of these bikes is EHC issues. Check out the list of recalls and service bulletins and you should be good to go.

Maybe one of the experts will chime in, which I'll quickly admit I'm not.

No issues that I know of....have one. As Linx mentioned it is a STD. K9 - Carb, different wheels (make sure the belt is not scraping the rear tire - mine was - put in a shim to move it out) - black eng. with diamond cut fins, numbered, no chrome package - that's it in a nut shell. I happen to like it - have done tons of mods so it looks slightly different...need any further info, do ping me.

I have one. Has 26,000 miles and has been perfect. No EHC issues. Service has been done at Iron Lightening. I would buy another one in a heart beat.

I have #12. Only issue I have had since I bought it in August of 07 was a bad speedo. Was replaced under warranty. No regrets! Bike runs great and is a blast to ride. :whoop:

I've had an '07, although not a "SE", for little over a year. Besides the speedo acting a little strange on occasion I've had no EHC issues (or any other type!). Even this forum's own ex-engineer from BDM has stated that the EHC failure rate for '07's and newer is very low. (1.5% for '07 and newer, 26% for '06 and prior).

Also, if you take look at the recalls (as linx mentioned) and the "help" requests on this forum I think you'll find that most of them pertain to '06 and before so...

If the price is good I'd buy it! :cheers:

I have a K9 Limited Edition No. 10 of 100
No issues what so ever. There were a few Mod's I did to mine. Blackdog Motorcycles near Harrisburg, Pa.
has done all the work and service. Mike Bowers and his team are the "PRO'S.

Good luck with yours you will smile a LOT when your in the wind.
