2006mastiff front end

Energy One
Good morning, I have a 2006mastiff and would like to change the front end. My question is has anyone changed the front end to make it not as long? I would like to replace the tubes to bring the wheel closer to the motor. Also would I have to change the ranking..

Just my opinion : You are messing with Perfection ! If you are looking for change buy another bike and take turns riding them:D

If your trees are STANDARD trees (NO offset), just by using shorter fork tubes, and legs, will NOT affect the handling. In other words you're just trying to lowering the front of the bike. Easy to check, without being Einstein. If the steering head of the frame is at the same angle as the forks, all will be fine.

My Dog is a 2006 Mastiff, and I changed the Trees out a long time ago from stock to Gothic (Chrome) and they are 3 degrees as said by Mr Wright

The first question that comes to mind is why?
If you don't like long bikes, go find something else or a second bike.
Messing with the front end if you don't know what you are doing can be dangerous. You must get the trail correct! (trail calulator as hman pointed out).

I love the style of the bike, but I'm 70 years old and just trying to make little easier to ride

3° is stock. These bikes take a bit to get used to but a lot of us ride em like dirt bikes. Scraped pegs n pipes are trophies! 70 aint old..... @ least not around here! Skogdog n Blacktopper are in their 70's and most here can't keep up with em! Jmo.
